CTET 2025 Notification Released: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the CTET 2025 December Session notification, bringing an end to the long wait for millions of teaching aspirants across India. Contrary to speculations about four levels under the new education policy, CTET 2025 will continue with its existing two-level structure – Primary (Class 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Class 6 to 8).

Exam Levels in CTET 2025
Despite discussions surrounding the implementation of a four-tier CTET exam in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), the CBSE has retained the two-level format for CTET December 2025:
Paper I – Primary Level
- For candidates intending to teach Classes I to V
- Conducted in the second shift of the examination day
Paper II – Upper Primary Level
- For candidates aiming to teach Classes VI to VIII
- Conducted in the first shift of the examination day
CTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification for Paper I (Primary Teacher: Class 1–5)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- OR Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of D.El.Ed as per NCTE regulations.
- OR Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Graduation with B.Ed qualification is also acceptable under specific conditions.
Educational Qualification for Paper II (Upper Primary Teacher: Class 6–8)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.
- OR Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed as per NCTE norms.
- OR Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed.
